Position Summary:
 
Under general supervision, the LPN will be trained to assist with Telehealth appointments on campus and be trained to provide assistance in other health rooms in the district.

 
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
 
  • Assist with Telehealth appointments
  • Perform nursing duties for treatment of acute illness
  • Provide basic first aid and emergency medical services
  • Assist RN with maintaining individual health and immunization records
  • Administer medication according to prescription label and school district policy
  • Communicable disease management
  • Stock and keep health room clean and organized
  • Refer, route and place phone calls as directed by RN
  • Adhere to all district policies 
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing, building RN, building administrator and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent, in accordance with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing Guidelines.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to assist with medical procedures and treatments

  • Ability to travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and other stakeholders

Certification/License:
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Practical Nursing License, from the Arkansas State Board of Nursing
  • CPR certification
  • Successful competion of all background checks


Contract Days:  185

Salary:  55% of Registered Nurse Salary Schedule
