DISTRICT 97 EXPECTATIONS

All District 97 employees are expected to:

  • Support all aspects of a student’s development (social/emotional, academic, physical, artistic expression) through caring and respectful relationships

  • Take collective responsibility for providing equitable opportunities and supporting learning environment for students

  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and staff

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Registrar supports school administrators by processing requests for both new enrollments and withdrawals, maintaining student files and records that are both clerical and academic in nature, performing routine administrative duties and facilitating communications with various stakeholders. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Register all new and returning students

  • Perform residency verifications

  • Request and track receipt of records for newly enrolled students

  • Prepare mass data imports for new students within prescribed time frames

  • Process parent contact and data information changes

  • Create and maintain student cumulative files and other student records; audit for accuracy on at least an annual basis

  • Establish and maintain secure access to student records; ensure proper disposal of student records

  • Maintain and scan received files for all students who enroll and withdraw; remove from appropriate systems

  • Serve as primary point of contact for families, teachers, staff and other school personnel in regards to accessing student information and records

  • Prepare and maintain transcripts and records release forms

  • Arrange and coordinate residency hearings

  • Provide data for required monthly and yearly District and State reports

  • Maintain complete student registration records on all current and previous students in accordance to Illinois School Code as well as Federal, State, and Local governing bodies.

  • Complete Data Delivery

  • Maintain updated directory information on each students’ permanent record including personal data (i.e. name and address change)

  • Compile data and complete ISBE forms: fall enrollment and housing, end of the year report, school report card, General State Aid claim, orphanage tuition report

  • Maintain homeless children database

  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Human Resources

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALING and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
