SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER
POSITION:  FULL-TIME SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER
POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 4
APPLICANTS MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER
District Expectations for School Social Workers:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services for at risk kids;
  • Keep current on community resources to assist schools, families, and students;
  • Serve as a liaison between the school district, students, parents, and appropriate community services;
  • Represent the district at community conferences, seminars, and meetings when assigned;
  • Collaborate on difficult cases with various agencies;
  • Facilitate training of behavior aides;
  • Coordinate the required community/parent meetings for suicide and sexual abuse prevention trainings;
  • Work within a tiered approach through collaborate with other school based personnel about necessary student needs;
  • Provide district wide crisis needs as guided by school and district leadership;
  • Learn and work within the guidelines and laws that regulate the educational system;
  • Other appropriate school related duties as assigned by the principal.
 
Your application will be considered complete when you provide the following documents with your online application:
  • Evidence of a master’s degree in social work, or proof of enrollment in an accredited social work program;
  • Copy of Utah certification with school social work endorsement or evidence of experience in a school setting;
  • Evidence of employment working with elementary age students;
  • Evidence of ability to work effectively with children, parents, staff, and community by means of a minimum of three letters of recommendation, at least one of which must be from a direct supervisor (does not have to be a current supervisor.)
