Farr West Elementary - (5.50 hrs.) PT TSSA/ Behavior Aide (#1937241)
A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Farr West Elementary for a PT Behavior Aide. This position is for 5.50 hours per day, 9 months per year. THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FILLED AFTER A MINIMUM OF 3 WORKING DAYS.
Duties and Responsibilities • Work under the direction of a behavior specialist to intervene with students with challenging behavior. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, engaging in the following activities with support and direction: • Utilize safe and appropriate procedures when managing students with challenging behavior • Interpret and implement written behavior plans, • Engage in reinforcement strategies (desired items/actions, attention, or removal of demands/aversive situations) to increase the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors and to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem solving skills • Utilize and model the implementation of positive behavior supports with students • Utilizes and models safe and appropriate prompting procedures to promote both successful and independent responding • Implements data collection systems, accurately collect and summarize data for the school • Collaborates with school team members to provide support effectively, and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment
BASIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, bending, standing, and sitting in student-size chairs) for extended periods of time • Must be able to move from sitting on floor to standing position repeatedly • Must be able to utilize quick body movements to maintain safety and implement student behavior plans • Must be able to provide own transportation to various school settings with reimbursement provided as applicable
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS PREFERRED: High School diploma or equivalent
