School Bus Driver

To improve student achievement by transporting students to and from school and schoolrelated activities and non-profit organizations. Drivers who serve as standby drivers, to assist other drivers and support personnel as needed.

Hours: Most Drivers depart approximately 6:00 a.m. and return about 9:30 a.m. and depart again approximately 1:30 p.m. and return around 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon. Number of hours per day: Big Bus 4-6 hours per day / Small Bus 6-8 hours per day

Starting substitute and training wage: $14.68/hour (subject to change) Permanent positions range from $17.47 to $22.30 dependent on length of employment with the district and previous school bus driving experience.

SKPS is offering incentives of up to $3,000 to join our Transportation team! New bus drivers with a permanent status will receive the following monetary incentives based on time worked over the employee’s first year of continuous employment:

A new driver with 90 days of route driving would earn a $500 bonus, another $500 after six months and another $500 after their one-year anniversary. A new driver with driving experience, a CDL, but no ODE certification, will receive $750 after 90 days of route driving, another $750 after six months and $1,000 on their one-year anniversary. A new driver with a CDL, driving experience and an ODE certification, will receive $1,000 after 90 days of route driving, another $1,000 after six months and $1,000 on their one-year anniversary.?

No experience required - paid training will be provided. Position requires a fairly clean driving record within the past three years. Please obtain a court certified copy of your driving record from the DMV for $3.00 (Type of record - CP CERTIFIED COURT PRINT, please follow the link to fill out the form ). If you have lived outside the state of Oregon within the past 3 years, please obtain both an Oregon DMV record and a DMV record from the state where you previously resided.
