EFFECTIVE: 2019/20 SCHOOL YEAR
7.5 HOURS PER DAY/MON-THURS. 3.75 HRS-FRIDAY/ 192 DAYS PER YEAR
Provide a safe and nurturing environment where children feel safe and are encouraged in early childhood activities.
Must be willing to work flexible hours.
- Proof of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Additionally, instructional paraprofessionals in Title I schools or paraprofessionals supported by Title I funds in a targeted Title I school must have 1 of the 3 following qualifications:
- 2 years of higher education;
- an associate's degree or higher;
- or a passing score on the state paraprofessional assessment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Basic math, writing, communication, and accounting skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Must complete Group Leader qualifications within 36 months of hire date.
20% - Conduct small group instruction.
20% - Work cooperatively with parents, preschool staff, Director and Preschool Coordinator.
10% - Record daily observation of preschoolers.
10% - Maintain classroom order, safety and cleanliness.
20% - Write and implement lesson plans for preschool sessions and extended day activities.
10% - Keep current records and reports on preschool students.
10% - Perform other duties as assigned.
Over 3 years experience in group care of unrelated children under 6 years of age.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal or designee
