Position Title: Head of School
Salary: $90,000-$95,000

Supervisor’s Title: Executive Director of Douglas County


Broad Scope of Position
· The Head of School oversees CEC Campus including all school functions, staff, finances, programs, student discipline and activities.  The Head of School facilitates programs and instructional practices based on analyses of student achievement data that results in increased academic achievement for all students using a continous improvement model for instruction. 

Essential Job Duties: 
· Develops through a collaborative process with Executive Director of Douglas County and Chief Administrator, leadership team and where appropriate, school procedures to ensure compliance within Charter School Institute (CSI), state and federal educational policies and objectives
· Models and uphold the policies and procedures of CEC and clearly communicates expectations to all staff
· Provides leadership that fosters professional growth in staff and collaboration between staff
· Resolves conflicts, obstacles and other issues for staff while also utilizing protocols and processes for CEC
· Delegates responsibilities and assignments fairly and effectively
· Effectively lead the CECFC Leadership Team by hosting regular Leadership Team meetings and mentoring/supporting all staff
· Models and sustain a culture of grit and growth mindset
· Responsible for hiring, evaluating and dismissal of staff for the campus with collaboration of HR department
· Consults with the subject matter experts on all leadership and staff as needed
· Represents CEC at community functions and local required educational meetings to promote CEC and to develop and maintain community partnerships
· Establishes funding priorities for school expenditures and allocates funds accordingly
· Monitors spending and related budgeting activities that are aligned with school improvement goals
· Manages and track all budgets for CEC operation and sustainability
· Guide research and procurement of grants that could expand student support services, CEC’s sustainability, high quality professional development and other continuous improvement programs
· Maintains positive and collaborative relationships with the Colorado Charter School Institute, CEC leadership team members and the CEC Network Support Office
· Effectively interprets, communicates and implements district, state and federal guidelines
· Fosters feedback and collaboration with parent/guardian and community partners to support the school and students
· Establishes procedures for continuous improvement in alignment with CEC mission and values
· Develops and implement a plan for ongoing student recruitment and retention
· Evaluates and continuously improve staff and instructor professional development
· Reviews, interprets and use data to understand and improve school and student success
· Promote a college going culture that establishes and implements clear, vigilant and consistent expectations for behavior and discipline, so student succeed in college or in their chosen career
· Ensure recruitment materials and school information reach the entire audience of potential CEC students, parents, instructors
· Classroom teaching and/or contractual administrative experience preferred at the level of the posted position
· Demonstrates ability to provide avenues of success for all students i.e., Academic Dean, Advising
· Demonstrates knowledge of the applications of technology in the instructional learning environment
· Provides knowledge of subject areas, curriculum and alignment, standards-based education and performance assessment
· Ability to communicate effectively and mediate conflicts with students, staff, parents, and community groups while promoting school goals and building efficacy among all stakeholders
· Able to analyze school achievement data and guide the accountability process successfully in full partnership with parents, staff and community members to ensure a results-driven system

Minimum Qualifications Required to Perform the Duties Successfully
· Masters degree in Education or related field preferred, Bachelor's required
· Minimum of 3 years of experience as Head of School, high school principal or other position substantially similar to the CEC Head of School position or has experience within the Colorado Early Colleges
· Experience coaching and developing staff
· Outstanding communication and presentation skills
· Strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
· Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook,
· Entrepreneurial spirit, with an eagerness to turn obstacles into opportunities and seek out opportunities, partners, and resources in unexpected places
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills
· In depth knowledge and understanding of the Early College model, including academics, advising, and college readiness standards
· Working knowledge of Colorado Department of Education and Colorado Charter School Institute policies
· Must have a valid Colorado license, car insurance coverage, and personal vehicle for travel to CEC Network Schools.
