The speech language pathologist will assess and provide academic support to ensure student success and promote an exemplary educational program which fosters achievement for all students. Develops and promotes good relations among community and school clientele.

 Job Description:

  • Ability to assess and provide academic support services to students who exhibit communication disorders which negatively impact their achievement as well as social functioning behavior (including articulation, receptive/expressive language, auditory processing, fluency, voice, written language and literacy), and monitor progress toward Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
  • Ability to assess and provide academic support to English language learners.
  • Strong knowledge of content area, Colorado standards, teaching methods, learning styles and educational research related to special education students of all levels and abilities.
  • Familiarity of diagnostic assessments for speech language.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, organization and planning skills.
  • Positively impact achievement and differentiate instruction based on the needs of the students by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills through collaborative work with students, teachers, staff, parents and administrators.
  • Willing to support and actively participate in a professional learning community.
  • Demonstrate an ability to provide small group and individual services to all levels of student ability (service cognitive delay, autism, learning disabled, emotional disabled, and speech language eligible students).
  • Knowledge of phonemic awareness and literacy interventions (i.e.; multi-sensory reading, reading comprehension, etc).
  • Ability to work cooperatively with special education teams and other staff to provide academic support regarding the speech language needs of students.
  • Maintain necessary documentation of student performance.
  • Communication students needs/progress with parents and other staff
  • Medicaid Billing

  • M.A. in Speech Pathology

  • Hold a valid Colorado School Speech Language Pathologist License.
  • Criminal background check required for hire.
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license.
