GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Director of Operations oversees, supervises, and manages all activities and support services required to facilitate and enhance the operations of TCA.
 
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the President
Supervises TCA Operations Staff

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Manages functions of the TCA Administration Office
  • Interacts with all outside agencies and institutions that effect the operation of TCA
  • Oversees and supervises facility management and collateral logistic activities, the functions of the Safety Officer/Risk Manager, Information Technology, Nurse, and Executive Assistant
  • Plans, programs and budgets for Operations’ activities to meet objectives
  • Plans, develops, programs and budgets capital projects in accordance with strategic plans
  • Contributes to strategic planning, prioritization, and coordination to meet TCA Board-directed long-range objectives and near-term operational goals
  • Manages all contractual agreements entered into by TCA from proposal through implementation to review
  • Provides oversight to meet safety compliance requirements and coordinates all maintenance requirements to ensure facilities support the TCA mission
  • Provides policy, procedures, and processes to ensure security of facilities
  • Attends meetings internal and external to TCA
  • Carries and responds to a mobile communication device for the purpose of conducting school-related business both during and after normal business hours
 
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides oversight, direction, supervision, and program reviews for a wide range of management and school support activities and services, functions, and initiatives including annual Charter agreement with Academy School District 20, Facility Use Agreement Policy, and documentation of TCA directives, policies, and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Business Administration, or Management preferred
 
EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of or experience in leadership or supervisory positions and Business or Administrative Management experience
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to lead and motivate people
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and the general public
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use good judgment in decision making and prioritizing duties
  • Ability to work well with individuals from diverse populations
  • Considerable knowledge in contracts and construction
  • Considerable knowledge of charter school law
  • Considerable knowledge of and skill in dealing with governmental agencies, to include city, state, and national agencies
  • Positive working relationship with school district administration
  • Considerable knowledge of policies, procedures, and overall school and ASD20 functions
  • Ability to handle, prioritize, and balance personnel versus mission conflicts and issues
  • Other duties as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is generally performed within a standard office environment, but may occasionally require standing and walking
  • Work is generally performed during normal working hours and additionally will include after-hours emergency response, coordination on operational matters, and policy/procedural direction
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The following are some of the physical demands commonly associated with this position.  They are included for informational purposes and are not all inclusive:
  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication
  • Constant use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of equipment, writing utensils, computer and typewriter keyboards
