Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in English as a Second Language (EFL/ELL/ESL/ESOL).
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program. Expired certifications will be considered.
BASIC FUNCTION: Accelerate the learning or acquisition of English and the academic content of math, language arts, science, and social studies in order to meet passing classroom expectations, passing SOL scores and graduation requirements and provide cross-cultural information about the American school system and being a student in an American school for LEP (limited English proficient) students. Serve as a liaison between the LEP student and all his/her classroom teachers and their families and the school. Implement all ESOL procedures in order to be in compliance with legal responsibilities. Provide leadership and consultation as the second language expert/specialist to all staff in a school.
