Steamboat Springs High School is seeking a Campus Supervisor to work with the staff and students to provide safety and security monitoring.  This position is anticipated to start on our about December 16, 2019 for the rest of the 2019-20 school year,.  This is a full-time position; Insurance benefit eligible; schedule to be discussed with school Principal. Pay depending on experience  - $15.90-$17.81                       


GENERAL SUPERVISION

  • Supervise students and visitors entry and exit into the building at the front door. 
  • Monitor student activities by regularly circulating through the entire school building and campus.  Monitor students in the commons area and halls during 4th and 8th hour. 
  • Monitor modified open-campus policies.  Administer open campus passes and ensure that students not eligible don’t leave campus during lunch.  Enforce discipline policy where necessary. 
  • Monitor parking areas.  Enforce parking policies.  Administer and issue parking permits.
  • Assist with school bus loading/unloading supervision.
  • Be familiar with and assist with school emergency procedures as directed by administrators.
  • Assist with supervision of school activities and events at the request of the administrators. 
  • Keep up to date on school and building policies and follow them.  Assist school administrators in implementation of school policies including: Student attendance and discipline, Address any observed disciplinary infraction.
  • Attend to faculty and staff needs including: Assistance with disciplinary issues. Provide school or student related information or records regarding attendance and discipline.
  • Maintain student records relative to parking, open campus  and Data entry of related information.
  • Greet and receive school visitors in a courteous and prompt manner including directing and assisting them.  Notify or address any visitor who bypasses the office and/or any suspicious or unusual activity on the part of any visitor.
  • Other duties as assigned by building principals.
  • Assist building principals with generation of school, student or staff related information.
  • Assist with special school functions including open houses, parent/teacher conferences, staff inservice days, etc.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Expereince working with student and/or policy enforcement
  • Ability to work independently with out direct supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill for interaction wiht students, staff, co-workers, adminstrators, parents and community members.

  • Computer proficiency with Google products, Microsoft Office Suite and ability to use student data program
  • Working knowledge of basic office procedures and office machines.

DECISION MAKING:  An example of a typical decision made by an individual in this position is to interpret policies/procedures and best practice.  An incorrect decision made by this position could impact the district legally causing financial condition of district to be effected. Errors made in decision-making could potentially result in substantial cost to the District or damage to the credibility of the District.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond professionally to questions from groups of parents, community members, commissions, colleagues and Board of Education.
 
Mathematical Skills:  ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, discounts, commissions, proportions, percentage, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, and geometry
 
REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract concrete variables.
 
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:  Proficient use of technology which includes: basic operations and concepts, word processing, spread sheets, internet usage, critical evaluation of information, data analysis, email, integration of technology.
 
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in budget and finance.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and community.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.  Ability to copy, coordinate, instruct, evaluate and negotiate.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.  Physically able to perform the following on a daily basis:
  • Ability to lift items weighing 50 pounds from floor level to an elevation of four feet
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, withstand frequent pushing, pulling, squatting and reaching
  • Ability to withstand exposure to the outdoor elements including extreme cold, extreme hot, rain, snow and other mountain climatic conditions
  • Possess sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to perform responsibilities as described.
