POSITION: LTS French Teacher
START DATE: 1/25/2020
SCHOOL(S): SRMS/UDHS
CERTIFICATION NEEDED: PA State Certification in French K-12 

HOURS: 7.5 hours/day
SALARY: As per UDEA Contract

SUMMARY:

Primary functions include the classroom instruction of students following district curriculum and procedures.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Reports directly to the building Principal

• Works cooperatively with other administrators, supervisors, staff, parents and students to perform job responsibilities as outlined


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. As outlined in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement

2. Salary (step/level placement) & Benefits are as described in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Follow a continuous program of curriculum development.
  2. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
  3. Use relevant technology and materials to support and differentiate instruction.
  4. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  5. Prepare classroom for class activities.
  6. Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.
  7. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
  8. Be aware of new materials, methodologies, philosophies and innovation, using those which suit the needs of the individual student.
  9. Assist in planning student activities, programs, and field trips.
  10. Attend required meetings and complete required reports.
  11. Consult with parents and other involved personnel concerning each student’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical development
  12. Create and maintain an environment conducive to learning.

QUALIFICATIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   1. Bachelor’s degree with valid PA certification

  2. Proficiency in the use of technology for individual communication and research

  3. Proficiency in presentation of technology to enhance small and large student group

Qualified candidate will be required:
