Job Title: Support Personnel Specialist
Credentials: None required for this position.
Education: High school diploma or GED
Training or experience required: 5 years of successful employment as a secretary or administrative assistant with school district experience, preferred. Must have strong computer experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of PowerPoint, Publisher, and other software knowledge desirable.

Contract: 260 days

Essential Job Functions:
Maintain and update current database of support positions.
Provide assistance to principals and patrons, answer calls and respond to questions regarding current job openings.
Serve as a resource to all administrators regarding the aspects of the hiring process.
Verify qualifications, certifications, and transcripts for all highly qualified support personnel.
Verify years of services and applicable experience of all new employees for purpose of establishing initial step on the payscale.
Enter all hires, separations from employment, and changes of assignments into MUNIS.
Maintain electronic personnel records of all currents employees in MUNIS
Process requests for service records, verifications of employment, and sick leave balance transfers on new and outgoing employees.
Distribute and receive employee contracts, maintain current list of all complete contracts and scan into employee records.
Distribute and receive all employee evaluations to ensure completion according to employee contract.
Give paraprofessional exams as required.
Prepare lists for Service Recognition and retiring employees.
Coordinate Support Employee of the Year recognition.
Employee process all new employees. Creating employee personal records into MUNIS and enter all employee data.
Prepare employee files and list of teachers assistant for Accreditation.
Prepare the Personnel agenda for the NPS Board of Education meetings on new hires, resignations, and terminations.
Coordinate the Secretaries Breakfast.
Maintain current records of OSBI background checks.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Successful performance of the job requires good customer service/people skills and to handle problems and provide information and technical assistance as requested. It requires complying with safety guidelines and policies to reduce accident or injury to staff or to students. It requires following school dress standards, proper attendance or leave policies, and other work-habits concerns for staff. Creativity, initiative and effective problem solving are critical to the success of the position.Help manage the computerization of school district operations. Provide training and support to district staff in the use of administrative computer systems. Perform such tasks to the ultimate benefit of the educational program. An incumbent in this position will utilize discretion, ingenuity and independent judgment due to the complexity of the job. Since there may be several ways to solve a problem, an incumbent is free to choose the solution.
