7:30am – 4:00pm

RATE OF PAY: $80,047 - $101,772 (commensurate on experience)

Position Description
Under minimum supervision of the Director of Technology, the Information Services Supervisor is responsible to:
• Manage the Student Information System (SIS): PowerSchool
• Support the Information Services Technician, and other stakeholders and users to manage student data with the SIS and peripheral systems
• Responsible for District compliance with federal, state and county student reporting requirements
• Work with District departments to ensure accuracy of data submitted to CALPADS
• Develop customizations within the SIS as required
• Promote PowerSchool and its functionality across the organization
• Supervise the Information Services Technician

• Minimum requirement: 4-year degree in Computer Science/Database Management or commensurate experience
• Oracle SQL certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience in K-12 educational industry
• Minimum of 2 years experience supporting a SIS system, PowerSchool or similar system
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License

• Posseses exceptional quantitative analytical and process skills
• Comfortable with designing and implementing standard processes across mutiple levels of stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills in oral and written English
• Able to write clear user documentation
• Able to train individuals and groups in the student information systems
• Able to cultivate and maintain successful relationships with a diverse user group including school administrators, teachers, office staff, and community groups
• Performs complex tasks and assumes responsibility using initiative, problem-solving skills and independent judgement.
• Ability to set and manage deadlines without close supervision
• Maintains confidentiality of staff, student and District information
• Ability to direct the projects for the Information Services Technician
• Complies with the physical/mental demands as described on the ADA profile

• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced proficiency in Excel
• Knowledge of Oracle SQL, JavaScript, Ruby or similar programming/scripting language
• Designs and creates pages in HTML; familiarity with screen design tools such as Dreamweaver
• Knowledge of CALPADS is desirable

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
• Facilitates stakeholders including teachers, human resources, nurses, educational services, registrars, site administrators, staff, and special education to fully utilize the SIS system
• Support data domains housed in the SIS and 3rd party systems including: registration, attendance accounting including CSR, enrollment, special education, health, discipline, assessment, English language learner support, grading and scheduling
• Facilitate interfaces to other student databases including, but not limited to, special education and registration
• Responsible for auditing student and staff security within the SIS system
• Maintain student data integrity by providing audit tools and trainning to site staff for data validation
• Manage courses, assist in scheduling, grading and developing report cards
• Provides technical support; function as SIS help desk
• Accountability responsibilities include certifying student demographics, enrollment, program, course, discipline, and teacher data in the California longitudinal pupil achievement data system (CALPADS)
• Support attendance and class size reduction accounting by training site and district staff in enrollment and attendance
• Support the Student Services Supervisor to ensure accuracy of attendance data for P1, P2, and annual attendance
• Perform other related duties in technology as assigned.
