CLASSIFICATION TITLE
COMMUNITY ED EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM SPECIALIST
 
SUMMARY
Community Ed Early Childhood Department Program Specialist reports to the Director of Community Schools and the Coordinator of the Infant and Early Learning Center to provide both direct and indirect support services within the program. The Community Ed Early Childhood Program Specialist analyze data, evaluate program success and ensure that the goals and objectives for the department are met.  Community Ed Early Childhood Program Specialist should be considered subject matter experts in their assigned roles and provide consistent data based reporting as requested.
 
A “program” refers to carrying out a specific service or specific activity within a department or the district.
Note:  Specific summary information and preferred requirements relating to the specific expertise area for this position will be provided by and approved by Human Resources
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Counseling, or a related field.
AND Two (2) years experience in providing direct services and program oversight for a program or project involving children from birth to 5 years of age.
Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Documentation of a negative tuberculosis screening test, administered within 12 months before the start date; or if a candidate has had a positive test, a written statement signed and dated by a health care provider within six months before the start date stating candidate is free from infectious active tuberculosis.  A negative tuberculosis screening test is required every 12 months of employment.
CPR and First Aid Certification.  Certification must be maintained current during course of employment
Verbal & written communication skills in English with a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions
Valid Arizona Driver’s license
MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees
 
Availability to work flexible hours as needed, to include evenings and/or weekends
 
PREFERRED/ PROGRAMMATIC QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in Education, Early Childhood Education, Social Services, or a related field.
Appropriate Arizona Teaching Certificate with Early Childhood Education Endorsement
Extensive community contacts and outreach experience
Supervisory experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
