This position will advise, coordinate, and supervise High School athletic programs, as well as being the Head
Coach for High School sports teams. As the Athletics Coordinator this position is responsible for all campus
athletics programs meeting the goals and objectives of Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) to provide students
the opportunity to participate and excel in the athletic program of their choice. As a Head Coach for High School
sports this position is responsible for performing all duties regarding recruiting players, organizing, practicing,
maintaining the playing field and practice facilities, scheduling, and developing student athletes.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal in charge of Athletics

Bachelor’s Degree National Federation of High School Sports Certification
Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) Certification or a recognized equivalent out of state certification and ability to obtain AIA Certification within 1 year Prior coaching experience at the high school level.
Experience developing, organizing or maintaining athletic programs required Knowledge of AIA rules and regulations.
Verbal and written communication skills

Master’s Degree in Education Administration of a related field
English/Spanish Bilingual
Experience in public speaking
Experience developing student specific interventions, fund raising, and facilitating performing arts programs.
Experience and knowledge of student athletics to include NHSS.

FBI fingerprint background check (at employee's expense).
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Valid AZ Driver's License required within 10 days of hire. Must not have accrued eight (8) points against driver's license within the past two years.
Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of auto insurance policy. Coverage must be valid throughout term of employment.  Must submit evidence of insurance of $30,000 bodily injury liability & $10,000 property damage liability.

2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR
Location - Sabino High School - Snyder & Harrison Area
1.0 FTE - 8 hour per day
EXC - Grade 1

12 months

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
