Classification: Non-certified professional Calendar: 220 day contract with evening, some weekend work, and some overnight trips are required Pay Frequency: On the 10th and the 25th of each month. Will be paid on the certified employee scale with the same benefits as certified personnel. Reports to: Head Athletic Trainer/Athletic Director/ Director of State and Federal Programs
Job Summary Specifically, plan, observe, monitor, and care for athlete participate in practices and competitions until in care of a parent. Perform assigned duties in the athletic training program.
Essential functions 1. Plan, observe, monitor, and care for athlete participant in all practices and competitions until in care of parent(s). 2. Plans for injury prevention protocol including protective devises, equipment maintenance, pre-participation exams, evaluation of environmental conditions and help with athletic drug screenings. 3. Maintains an injury recognition and evaluation protocol and refers to doctor as deemed necessary. 4. Manages, treat, and rehabilitates all athletic injuries. 5. Keeps a daily injury/ treatment log and help to organize the duties of student managers and trainers. 6. Keeps an inventory of athletic and medical equipment. 7. Records, files, and reports all insurance claims, physicals, and sports medical forms for all current Tullahoma High School and Middle School athletes. 8. When an accident occurs, implements the emergency plan. 9. Helps with preparing equipment for transportation to away games for the sports assigned. 10. Expected to be at one of the schools by 8:30AM Monday-Friday to treat athletes throughout the school day and then be present for the assigned sport teams.
Marginal Job Functions 1. Expected to remain up to date in the field of sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation as well as recertification through attendance of clinics and workshops. 2. Performs other duties as assigned by the athletic director and/or principal. 3. Demonstrates personal characteristics expected of all Tullahoma City School employees. 4. Strong writing, organizational, administrative, and communication skills. 5. Complete the Employment Intention Form annually. 6. Complete required annual and safety training each school year by the established due date. 7. Routinely review your Tullahoma City School system email. 8. Follow your instructions for communicating with the proper school personnel for being absent. 9. Meet the necessary health and physical qualifications.
