Position Summary: The Social Services Specialist (SSS) Team Lead is part of a district-level multidisciplinary team whose main responsibility is to build a sustainable system of tiered supports to address student behavioral and mental health needs. The SSS Team Lead will be assigned to a set network of schools with a designated district-level team. This position requires the monitoring of student data across the network and within individual schools to identify social, behavioral and mental health supports needed to eliminate barriers to learning and enhance the academic success of students. The SSS Team Lead will problem solve and (Specialist_SocialServicesNetworkLevel) Page 2 of 3 coordinate resources within and outside the district to meet the needs of student populations. This licensed professional will also oversee the community-based mental health agencies that provide therapeutic services within their assigned schools to ensure compliance to district, state and federal policies, procedures and laws. SSS Team Leads will provide professional development and support to build school personnel expertise in the unique needs of students with social, emotional and mental health issues and concerns.
