Work Schedule: To be determined based on Tutor’s college schedule and school needs. Schedule could include evenings and weekends.

High school diploma or equivalent
- Active enrollment in higher ed - e.g. college or university
- Prior to employment, all candidates must pass a District 6 background check at the expense of the district
- Complete 16 hours of AVID Tutorology training (within first year of employment)
- Applicants may be required to submit fingerprints and a fee of $39.50 to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation prior to employment
University coursework in content area referred
Tutoring/Intern opportunities exist at the Family Center, elementary, middle, high schools in District 6. Applicants must be willing to work within a variety of content areas with small groups of students under the supervision of a certified teacher in a classroom during the regular school day. Tutors/Interns serve as guides and facilitators of students’ learning through questioning, writing, thinking, and discussing. Tutors/Interns may work a minimum of one hour per week, or multiple hours, depending on the tutors’ availability.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain consistent schedule throughout the semester with the school(s)
- Provide a positive and encouraging environment for students and school staff
- Maintain an accurate and honest timesheet
- Follow requirements for documenting tutor information for students

Work Environment/ Physical Demands
Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important
Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
Applicant should have organizational and record keeping skills, excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage time and meet obligations with minimal supervision. Applicants must maintain confidentiality and perform all functions of the position. Student with eligible work-study grants are encouraged to apply.
