Description

Dynamic, committed and effective educator needed to teach core academic subjects to elementary students at the intermediate level. Middle school 5/6 or 4/5.

Our teachers enjoy excellent academic and disciplinary support from the administration, instructional coaches, consultants, and colleagues through professional learning communities.

A rural Title I school, Ajo Elementary serves students from Ajo, Why, Lukeville and the western edge of the Tohono O’Odham Reservation. Our student population is 50% Hispanic, 25% Anglo and 25% Native American; AZELLA classifies about 20% of our students as English language learners.

We offer competitive salary & benefits, plus annual Proposition 301 performance bonus of up to $3000, plus additional annual performance bonuses worth up to $5000. Up to 25 years of experience applicable to district salary schedule. Extra duty contracts are available for coaching sports and/or sponsoring extracurricular activities. We welcome teacher initiative to start new extracurricular programs. Additional compensation is available for teaching and tutoring after school and during intersessions and summer school.
