Arts Integration Coordinator
Must hold a certificate issued by Florida Department of Education.
The position will work in partnership with School Administrators/Assistant School Administrators/Teachers to assist multiple campuses in integrating arts into the curriculum. The successful candidates will have a minimum of five years of related experience. They must have a passion and experience teaching children (PreK – 12th Grade) as well as working with adults. They also must have experience integrating arts into curriculum and experience working with community based arts organizations.
Job Responsibilities: 1. Provide direct, instructional support, coaching and guidance to teachers integrating performing arts and visual arts within their classrooms and embedded throughout the curriculum(s). 2. Develop, select and model lessons that meaningfully integrate the arts (music, dance, theater) as an instructional strategy and incorporate use of arts integration. 3. Collaborate with teachers to develop plans to improve student performance in academic subjects through arts integrations. a. Assists teachers in developing accommodations and adaptations to ensure full participation of all students 4. Assists teachers in creating an arts integrated classroom environment that provide for student involvement in the learning process and enables each students to achieve their learning objectives by coaching and guiding teachers. 5. Provide input regarding the planning of instructional goals, objectives and methods in arts integration. 6. Identify, analyze, evaluate, and recommends new agency-wide strategies that enables all students to use arts as learning tools. Investigates and disseminates information on best practices/current trends/research for arts integration 7. Work with Directors of Curriculum and Instruction to collect data to monitor effectiveness of strategies. 8. Assist with instructional arts-related grant writing. 9. Participates in and delivers arts integration professional development to families and staff members. 10. Work with the community arts organizations to develop partnerships (i.e. arts in residence, art shows, etc.). 11. Serves as the lead for Art Integration projects such as performances, field trips, in-school field trips, etc. 12. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
