Job Description: A position has been declared open within Weber School District for a full-time mental health specialist. This position will require eight hours of work per day, five days every week, for nine months per year. This Mental Health Specialist will be based in the Roy cone elementary schools, and the Mental Health Specialist will work with elementary students from these schools.

Description of Job Duties: The Mental Health Specialist will work directly with school teams to provide mental health support to regular education K-6th grade students. They will focus on students with chronic absenteeism due to many social factors. They will also work to provide support to students associated with bullying/harassment, disruptive behavior, suicide/self-harm, violence/harm to others, drugs/alcohol/tobacco abuse, sexual deviance and more within the District. Additionally, Mental Health Specialists will provide individualized management and safety plans; coordinate support efforts with school personnel (administrators, teachers, counselors, behavior specialists/aides); facilitate training on mental health issues; provide recommendations and resources related to behavioral risk; and collaborate closely with community-based mental health agencies. An active Certified Social Worker (CSW) license is required. Clinical supervision of both CSW’s will be provided by the District’s Mental Health Specialist (LCSW).

Salary Range-

$48,000 - $75,000 + Retirement & Benefits- Pay dependent on experience, degree, etc.
