Mental Health Specialist

A position has been declared open within Weber School District for four full-time mental health specialists. These positions will be for 8 hours per day, 9 months per year. Each of the four positions will be based at the respective high schools and will work with students from the high school and the jr. high schools in their cone.

Description of Job Duties: This mental health specialist will work directly with a team of professionals to provide intensive mental health support to regular education 7th- 12th grade students; facilitate a comprehensive risk assessment/management system (addressing behavioral risk associated with bullying/harassment, disruptive behavior, suicide/self-harm, violence/harm to others, drugs/alcohol/tobacco abuse, sexual deviance and more) within the District; provide individualized management and safety plans; coordinate support efforts with school personnel (administrators, teachers, counselors, behavior specialists/aides); facilitate training on mental health issues; provide recommendations and resources related to behavioral risk; and collaborate closely with community-based mental health agencies.

Job Qualifications

Current license in any of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage/Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PhD or Psy.D)

Salary Range-

$50,300 - $78,740 + Retirement & Benefits- Pay dependent on experience, degree, etc.
