Good Foundations Academy (GFA) is a K-6 public charter school offering a unique educational program with an emphasis on character and academic excellence. Our school serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade. GFA opened its doors to approximately 300 students for its inaugural school year in August 2010. With strong support from our community, we have now grown to an enrollment of over 500 students at our school.
GFA offers a unique education program with an emphasis on both character education and academic excellence. GFA integrates Core Knowledge, Eureka Math, and Character First in a skillfully woven educational program. Teachers receive ongoing training in all major curriculum components and support each other in a spirit of collegial partnership.
GFA has two Assistant Directors. Each Assistant Director is assigned a range of grade levels. Within those grades, each Assistant Director with assume the following responsibilities:
- Implements policies and procedures for the purpose of supporting the vision, mission and charter of GFA - Implements policies and procedures for the purpose of providing direction to parents, teachers and staff - Supports the Executive Director in the execution of administrative functions - Accountable to the Executive Director. May assume the role of the Executive Director in the absence of the Executive Director - Manages a variety of school administrative functions for the purpose of enforcing school, state and federal policy, maintaining safety, and ensuring the efficiency of school operations. - Directs school resources to increase student growth in academic achievement and character development - Directs and supervises school personnel, monitors performance, and provides opportunities for professional growth. - Represents the school within our GFA community in regard to issues related to school environment
