A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Majestic Elementary for an ELL Teacher. This position is for 8 hours per day, 9 months per year.

Under the direction of the program administrator, the teacher is responsible for the education of assigned students and will create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth. The teacher will establish effective rapport with the students; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and the knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education, and do so in accordance with each student’s ability. Professional relations will be developed and maintained with other staff and parents (if applicable). Teaches subject matter utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other appropriate learning activities. Utilizes Utah Adult Education Standards for ESOL. Develops lesson plans, adapts curriculum to meet individual student needs, and utilizes effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive learning experiences which best utilize the time available for instruction. Utilizes computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction. Controls the storage and use of District owned property; Makes minor adjustments and requests repairs. Maintains classroom organization, discipline, and student safety. Devises and utilizes techniques which accurately measure students’ progress. Evaluates students’ academic and personal growth keeping appropriate records and utilizing State approved testing instruments. Communicates and cooperates with other professional staff and attends all staff meetings. Demonstrates professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission. Conforms to district policies including attendance, absences and evaluations. Has knowledge of Utah State Office of Education ESL/ELL Guidelines. Must be licensed teacher, ESL/ESL endorsement preferred but will consider experience. Prefer bilingual (Spanish). (Not required).
