Roosevelt Elementary - PT (4.10 hrs.) Reading/Math Aide (#1666237)
A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Roosevelt Elementary for a Teacher Reading/Math Aide in a Tier II setting. This position is for 4.10 hours per day, 9 months per year Weber District employees may send a resume to the school principal. Applicants outside the District may apply on Teachers-Teachers.com. Purpose Statement The job of Reading Aide was established for the purpose/s of assisting assigned teaching personnel in the supervision and instruction of students, reading one on one or in group setting and performing classroom tasks in support of the instructional process.
Essential Functions • Administers tests, homework assignments, helping students with Math, working with individuals, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the instructional process. • Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts. • Guides students in independent study (e.g. enrichment work, remedial work, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student success. • Implements, under the supervision of assigned teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of assisting the teacher in improving students' academic success through a defined course of study. • Monitors individual students, classroom, library, playground activities, etc. for the purpose of ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. • Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the teacher and/or administrator in providing records/materials.
Other Functions • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Must be able to operate standard office equipment; and preparing and maintaining accurate records. Must have knowledge of concepts of grammar and punctuation; and stages of child development. Must be able to communicate with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; and working with constant interruptions. Experience: Job related experience is desired. Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
