Preschool Education Coordinator (#1633654)
Understand with sensitivity, the issues of low income families and children and fellow staff with positive regard as defined in the program's mission statement. Lead staff to develop and implement our program's school readiness goals and strive toward vertical alignment between Head Start/Pre-K and Kindergarten. ?Be familiar with Head Start Performance Standards, DOE licensing regulations and voluntary Pre-K guidelines. ?Plan and provide training to HS and preschool staff during pre-service and throughout the year. ?Observe preschool and Head Start classrooms regularly; ensure through observation and modeling that classroom staff provide a balanced program of child initiated and adult initiated activities encouraging independence, self help skills and mutual respect; work closely with staff to follow developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum guidelines. ?Assist classroom staff in using multiple sources of information to assess a child's development and behavior. ?Observe preschool classrooms using CLASS; meet with staff to provide feedback and follow a Practice-Based Coaching Model. ?Attend training and meetings both locally and out-of-town, related to service area focus, representing our program in a professional manner. ?Conduct job with professionalism, including attendance, confidentiality, program support, and maintenance of a positive work attitude. ?Demonstrate work habits that comply with the Oak Ridge Schools personnel policies and procedures. ?Perform all other reasonable job-related duties as requested by the principal, superintendent, and school system.
