Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider an enjoyable and gratifying employment opportunity with our school. We are looking for a knowledgeable, caring and innovative individual to fill a part-time Occupational Therapist position. This position is two days a week, 7.5 hour per day, and is located on the Springville campus.

Principal Duties As an Occupational Therapist you will: • Facilitate normal motor and social development and play as well as academic performance by providing assessment and intervention for deaf/hard-of-hearing and blind/visually impaired students. • Evaluate students’ needs and administers therapy to preserve and improve abilities for independent function, such as range of motion, strength, tolerance, coordination, behavioral management skills, social skills, and activities of daily living. • Provide direct patient care in the clinical setting including: assessment, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of students • Determine the degree of disabilities of the students • Develop and implement treatment plans to help students mobilize inner capacities and resources to improve social functioning • Document students’ progress and revise treatment plans as required
