A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Rocky Mtn. Jr High School for a Reading Aide. This position is for 5.5 hours per day, 9 months per year. APPLY IMMEDIATELY Purpose Statement The job of Reading Aide was established for the purpose/s of assisting assigned teaching personnel in the supervision and instruction of students, and performing classroom clerical tasks in support of the instructional process. Essential Functions • Assists students, individually or in groups of students needing additional help in Reading. • Guides students in independent study (e.g. enrichment work, remedial work, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student success. • Implements, under the supervision of assigned teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of assisting the teacher in improving students' academic success through a defined course of study. • Performs record keeping and clerical functions (e.g. scheduling, copying, etc.) for the purpose of supporting the teacher and/or administrator in providing records/materials. Other Functions • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Must be able to operate standard office equipment; and preparing and maintaining accurate records. Must have knowledge of concepts of grammar and punctuation; and stages of child development. Must be able to communicate with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; and working with constant interruptions. Experience: Job related experience is desired. Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
