Description:  Speech Team Assistant Coach

Location:  Platte Canyon High School

Job Summary:  2019-2020 School Year


Salary:  $1500


The assistant coach will assist the PCHS Head Speech Coach in organizing and running the team. 

Duties include 
     Helping students create and practice their speech pieces (coaching them on brainstorming and organizing ideas, writing, acting, debating, and general public speaking skills); 
     Assisting with setting up, running, and cleaning up the home meet and any other team/parent meetings; and 
     Attending all meets during the season to assist as a chaperon and as a judge. 
   Training for all of this will be provided.
The speech season runs from mid-September to the end of January. There are 8-12 meets per year, on Saturdays and occasional Fridays. Practices are after school three times per week, and five times a week for the two weeks prior to the state competition. The practice schedule is somewhat flexible.
