Reports To: Principal

Job Goal: To give instruction to the students in the areas assigned by the Principal and Director of Schools

Term of Employment: 10 Months

Responsibilities: (Include but are not limited to)

• Know and follow all school board policies. • To give classroom instruction in the subject area assigned by the principal and director of schools. • To record accurately the number of students present and absent each day. • To be aware of where every student assigned to your classroom is at all times in the event of an emergency (e.g., fire drill, severe weather warning, school lockdown, etc.). • To follow state and local courses of study, to follow rules and regulations of the state and local boards of education, and to follow school rules and policies established by the principal. • To participate in all required in-service activities and continue professional development. • Communicate with parents/guardians to keep them duly informed of their child’s progress and hold conferences with parents/guardians when necessary. • To report to the principal of the school when one knows or reasonably suspects that a child’s health or welfare has been or appears to have been harmed as a result of abuse or neglect. • To give full, willing and helpful cooperation in carrying out all reasonable instructions, or extra assignments which are given by the principal before, during and after the school day. • Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Lenoir City High School is seeking applicants for a Vocational Teacher, Pre-Engineering (Project Lead the Way). This person will teach Honors Introduction to Engineering Design, Honors Principles of Engineering, Honors Senior Engineering Design, and Honors Introduction to Computer Programming. Candidates for the position should hold the following endorsements: (042 and 043), (042 and 044), (042 and 045), (042 and 046), (042 and 047), (042 and 077), (042 and 078), (042 and 079), (043 and 044), (043 and 045), (043 and 046), (043 and 047), (043 and 077), (043 and 078), (043 and 079), (044 and 045), (044 and 046), (044 and 047), (044 and 077), (044 and 078), (044 and 079), (045 and 046), (045 and 047), (045 and 077), (045 and 078), (045 and 079), (046 and 047), (046 and 077), (046 and 078), (046 and 079), (047 and 077), (047 and 078), (047 and 079), (077 and 078), (077 and 079), (078 and 079) 122, 125, 129 or Occupational licensed instructor who holds a bachelor's degree. Teachers who have never taught this course MUST attend the training provided by PLTW and receive PLTW Certification.
