Description: Special Education/CDC Teacher 

Job Summary: This specialist teaches students with various learning differences, primarily those with Autism Spectrum Disorder in an extended resource/pull-out setting. Successful candidates must be able to teach special education students in both the pullout and inclusive settings, fulfill the requirements of the IEPs of the students assigned in an execptional manner, manage case files, professionally lead IEP meetings, and manage special education paraprofessionals.  

Qualifications: Sucessful candidates must have proper certification in the state of Tennessee, have an in-depth understanding of special education law and procedures and stay abreast of all changes.  This candidate must be able to implement the program as outlined in the students' IEPs, adapting instruction to the differing disabilities, medical needs, developmental levels, and learning styles of the students.  This professional will also be responsible for managing paraprofessional staff.  Preferred qualifications would include experience in implementing Functional Behavior Plans, and experience with applied behavior analysis.
