The license must be in one of the following grades: 11th, 12th.

General Statement of Duties Responsible for teaching gifted / high ability high school students calculus-based Physics I (Mechanics) & II (E&M) coursework. Incumbent will create a classroom environment that motivates each student to acquire knowledge of scientific facts and principles in the areas of electromagnetism and modern physics, problem solving skills; and that discovers and develops the special talents of gifted students Student Responsibilities Responsible for teaching gifted high school students college-level physics coursework using the Governor’s School for Science and Technology curriculum Essential Functions of the Class (May not include all duties performed) Teaches skills, knowledge, and scientific attitudes in a second year physics course that is calculus based. Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the Governor’s School for Science and Technology’s instructional philosophy; provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students. Plans a science program involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student experiments; organizes laboratory activities or optimal learning. Demonstrates scientific concepts by use of scientific apparatus, experiments, and standard or prepared charts, sketches, and other instructional aids.
