The Mathematics Academic Coach will support high school math teacher 9-12. He/she will provide collaborative and one-on-one instructional coaching and will facilitate teacher inquiry and related professional development. The Coach will work with the Director of Secondary Education, administrators, and teachers to align work with school and district priorities. He/she will lead data sessions that look at both formative/summative assessment results and suggest/monitor intervention strategies and materials for struggling students. The Coach will focus on enhancing teacher's ability to provide instruction of the math curriculum and enhance students' engagement and ownership of their learning. He/she will be frequently visiting and observing in teachers' rooms to provide support and feedback. As a member of a professional coaching community, the Mathematics Academic Coach will participate in professional development and inquiry into his/her own practive.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, master's degree preferred A valid Tennessee teaching license Demonstrated math achievement in the classroom Interpersonal skills, emphasizing persuasiveness and consensus building Minimum of professional licensure with five years of mathematics teaching experience This is a certified position working 200 days/year.
