Bilingual Parent Liaison - closes 04/25/2019 (#1464002)
The Parent Liaison will facilitate communication between the school and English speaking/non-English speaking parents, and provide families with the skills and information needed ti increase their child's academic success and to strengthen the family unit.
Responsibilities: *Serve as a liaison between the school and the parent/families of the school. * Promote positive parenting throughout the school district and the school communities by providing training for parents on strategies to promote student success. * Promote family welfare efforts by establishing contact with families and connecting them to available community, school, district resources. * Provide information to parents concerning school district regulations and the local school's procedures and instructional programs in order to improve home-school communication. * Make personal contact with parents to encourage parental engagement, including home visits, if necessary. * Collaborate with the school counselor and other instructional personnel to reduce grade-level retention and drop-out to ensure high school completion. * Research, collect, organize and coordinate resources, materials, and activities to facilitate family engagement. * Compile and maintain all required compliance documentation and program records (i.e. Title I documentation for family engagement). * Coordinate and implement family engagement programs for the campus in collaboration with other staff. * Participate in regularly-scheduled training, under the direction of the District Family Engagement Coordinator. * Follow the schedule of the school that he/she has been assigned to. * Perform other duties as assigned, if allowed under the funding guidelines. * Reports to Campus Principal, District Coordinator.
