This program is open to current Assistant Principals in MNPS only.  Applicants must have two years of Assistant Principal experience and two years of at or above expectation TEAM and LOE scores.  This training and development opportunity strengthens the leadership capacity of our Assistant Principals in order to prepare them for Executive Principal Leadership.  Participation in the Principal Residency Pipeline leads to priority consideration for future MNPS Executive Principal positions. This training includes varied professional learning opportunities, job-embedded coaching, mentorship and residency experiences. 

The purpose of this program is to prioritize principal leadership as a primary lever for school improvement by building the leadership capacity within our district.

Requirements of the application to the program: (Upload all documents below with the application)

  • Current resume
  • Names and contact information of your current Executive Principal, current Executive Director of School Support and Improvement (EDSSI), and current Community Superintendent
  • Essay (350 words or less) -Tell your leadership story.


Interview and Selection Process
The selection and interview will be a rigorous process consisting of a review of recommendations, a review of TEAM/LOE scores, a panel interview and participation in a performance task.
