The IB Coordinator at Franklin Academy is a highly visible member of the school community whose role is to successfully administer and strongly guide the Primary Years Programme. The coordinator should have an international-minded approach, be interested in promoting an inclusive program model, and be willing to serve as a voice for the IB philosophy and the Learner Profile. The coordinator must work as a team player and will ensure that the IB program fully supports Franklin Academy’s mission and direction.
• Manage all aspects of record keeping on IBIS (The IB online record-keeping database) • Insure teacher adherence to IB specific curriculum, assessments, due dates, and best instructional practices • Mentor teachers on the Learner Profile, individual subject aims and assessment objectives, and how to embed those throughout the course. • Maintain a calendar of events for students/parents, faculty and community • Evaluate training needs for faculty, both immediate and long term alongside the IB Head (Dr. Sandberg) • Ensure the IB program is in line with the school’s mission and vision • Maintain clear communication with parents and students • Maintain and further develop education and marketing of the IB program to lower grades, prospective families, and the community at large • Be proactive in deepening the IB experience for all, and growing the program where appropriate • Other duties as directed
