Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: Special Education (K-12+) (Level 1), Special Education (K-12+) (Level 2).
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Computers, Elementary Teacher, Success for All, Title I, Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th.

CS Lewis Academy is now accepting applications for a full-time Special Education Teacher to work with mild/moderate and severe/profound students. This position is intended for the 2023-2024 school year and continuing into future school years to follow. CS Lewis Academy is a free public charter school located in Santaquin, Utah. Elementary Special Education Teacher Responsibilities: Current Utah Educator Special Education (K-12) License with Mild-Moderate and/or Severe endorsement. Experience working with students with significant cognitive disabilities, physical disabilities, medical needs, and autism. Knowledge of programming and curriculum for students with more significant disabilities. Ability to schedule services for students K through 6th grade, collaborate with general education teachers focusing on inclusion and co-teaching, train and manage paraeducators/paraprofessionals, and excellent behavior management skills with knowledge of administering Functional Behavior Assessments and writing Behavior Intervention Plans. Teachers are expected to plan and implement a program of instruction that adheres to the CS Lewis Academy vision and philosophy of instruction utilizing teaching standards and objectives as outlined in our academic programs and the Utah State Core. Teachers are responsible to build their skills consistently to improve their own performance and professionalism.
