Responsible for ensuring excellent instruction. Colorado Early Colleges Fort Collins is dedicated to creating innovative education materials, curriculum and environments that spark a love of learning, develop grit, and instill a growth mindset. Throughout the year, you will supervise the Academic department, including instructors, academic assistants, instructional specialists, and testing coordinators. You will work closely with all other departments, especially Special Education, Advising, and HR, to develop and implement policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student, the professional development of each staff member, and the growth of the school.

Academic • Responsible for the instructional process of the classroom • Analyzes educational needs of students and addresses parental concerns • Evaluates and supervises instructional staff in meeting academic needs • Oversees all curriculum adoptions and instructional material purchases • Directs professional staff in aligning curriculum/instruction to support standards • Visits classrooms consistently to monitor classroom management in each classroom • Evaluates staff effectiveness and instructional strategies and develops plans for improvement • Coordinates the interpretation of student data to develop Individual Learning Plans as needed • Utilizes local, state and federal data to develop and implement the Unified Improvement Plan and other required reports • Prioritizes building individualized relationships with staff and students • Oversees the training and arranging of substitute teachers • Provides instructional leadership to teachers regarding instructional/management strategies • Coordinates professional development trainings for teachers and conducts weekly meetings/trainings • Coordinate with all departments to identify and support struggling students
• Implements appropriate processes to develop policies, functional goals and objectives. • Hires and evaluates instructional staff for the school. Consults the Head of School as needed regarding hiring and dismissal. • Delegates academic tasks and projects to team • Oversees due process of student appeals and disciplinary actions • Establishes funding priorities and monitors spending • Participates and promotes stakeholder involvement in accountability through activities with the SAC and other school partnerships. • Utilizes the student accountability process (SAC) - involves and reports to parents as appropriate. • Maintains personnel files for each employee at the school. • Ensures each new employee is provided appropriate training and information including building keys, staff ID and a staff handbook. • Conducts faculty meetings as necessary • Provides guidance for and facilitates school wide activities such as National Honor Society, choir, graduation, standardized testing committee, student recognition committee, teacher and staff appreciation committee (Sunshine Committee) and Enrichment. • Completes projects, reports, etc. as needed. • Attends student activities and events • Various other duties as requested by supervisor

Financial Justification for the Position This position provides oversees all academic departments to ensure compliance and unity so staff are working efficiently to complete the school mission.
Work Hours 7:30 am to 4pm (4:30 on Tuesdays and 3:30 on Fridays)
Reporting This position will report to the Head of School
