We are thrilled that you are interested in applying at Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning. Teachers who apply at this school can look forward to a very active learning and teaching environment. Students participate in term-long expeditions through which several core standards are taught. Classes are arranged in crews. The homeroom crew is a mixed-grade group. Teachers participate in the development of the expeditions they will be experiencing with their students. Teachers can also expect to spend much more time outside the classroom, in the field, working with students. Fieldwork is essential to the practice of Expeditionary Learning. If you are looking for an environment of learning where quality is the operative culture in the school and you’re willing to put forth the effort that it takes to help everyone in the school achieve that quality, you are encouraged to apply. Any teacher considering employment at Promontory School of Expeditionary learning should familiarize him/herself with our charter, values, and policies found on our website at www.promontoryschool.org. Teachers of 7th and 8th-grade core subjects should list every subject for which they are endorsed.
