Food Service Manager – West Valley
 
At Legacy Traditional Schools we educate K through 8th grade students in a back-to-basics format as well as teaching them character. It is critical that our students are fed a well-balanced lunch to help enrich their bodies and brains. This is a salaried position and follows a 10 month school year calendar.
 
If you are selected as Food Service Manager, we are entrusting you to operate the campus kitchen in a highly organized fashion. Some of the qualities that will make you an effective Food Service Manager for one of our campuses include:
 
Team Leader - Our Food Service Manager must inspire their staff to work as a team. Leading by example is will accomplish this.
 
Computer/Online Skills - The days of ordering supplies over the phone are over. We need an individual that is able to make technology work for them.
 
Inventory control - Ensure freshness of supplies (as well as sufficient inventory), on a daily, weekly as well as monthly basis.
 
Meal preparation - Ensure meals are prepared on time and to exacting standards. The Food Service Manager must be ready to jump in and assist at any given time. You have just over 2 hours in order to feed all of our hungry overachievers.
 
Equipment - Ensure equipment is well maintained and in good working order. Preventive maintenance plays a critical role.
 
Kitchen Cleanliness - Clean as you go. Quarterly Deep Cleanings (at a minimum).
 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
  • At least one year in Food Service industry supervising personnel.
  • Food Handler’s Manager Card
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
  • Arizona Employees: 
    1. Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Nevada Employees:
    1. NV Fingerprint Background Check
  • The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
