Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: School Counselor (K-12) (Level 1), School Counselor (K-12) (Level 2), School Counselor (K-12) (Level 3).
The license position area must be in Counselor/Guidance.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 7th, 8th, 9th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Description
1. Implement the school guidance curriculum 2. Guide and counsel students through the development of student education occupation plans (SEOP). 3. Counsel small groups and individual students. 4. Consult with teachers, staff and parent/guardians regarding meeting the developmental and academic needs of students. 5. Refer students with critical needs, in consultation with parents/guardians, to appropriate community services. 6. Participate in and coordinate or conduct activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school. 7. Advocate for all students. 8. Plan, implement, evaluate and revise the school comprehensive guidance program. 9. Demonstrate professional conduct and pursue professional growth. 10. Assist and collaborate with administration in the building of a master schedule. 11. Other responsibilities as assigned by school administration.
