What Spectrum does . . .
Spectrum petitioned the state and will be formally moving to a 4-day instructional week with an alternate Friday next year. This will allow staff to engage in planning, collaboration for personalization, and complete special education documentation. Further, we have significantly increased our teacher pay scales to reflect the unique impact and commitment Spectrum teachers have on their students.
Spectrum Academy is the premier charter school that specializes in working with students who have High Functioning Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. About 90% of our student body receives special education services.
Our elementary classrooms are a part of our leveled instruction model. Instruction is directly aligned with the Utah State Core Standards and implemented using research-based curriculum and instructional strategies.
