Biology - High School
Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in Biology/Life Science.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.

Qualifications: • Hold or be eligible for licensure in Virginia with Secondary Science-Biology endorsement • Masters degree preferred, or 18 hours beyond Bachelors degree • Demonstrated understanding of standards-based curriculum, research-based instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices • Ability to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performance • Understanding of continuous school improvement and effective schools research • Ability to disaggregate and use data to inform instruction • Experience working with diverse populations including children with disabilities, students with limited English proficiency, students who live in poverty and students who are talented and gifted • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, students, parents, and community members • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative-shared leadership environment
Length of employment is 200 days, renewable for 200 days in accordance with School Board policy and the Code of Virginia. Salary range is $42,129.00 - $63,999.00 based on education and experience with a comprehensive benefits package.
