Reports to the Transportation Director
Qualifications
DOT Physical & Must be 21 years of age or older
 
Experience
Bud Driving Experience with adolescents preferred.
 
Basic Function/Scope
The regular route driver shall meet all standards and requirements for drivers established by the Colorado Department of Education, Federal Head Start Guidelines, Transportation Department, The Cripple Creek – Victor School District, and any other regulatory agency that may have jurisdiction over the transportation of pupils or individuals.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The regular route driver is responsible for transporting students to and from the Cripple Creek – Victor School District on a daily basis on such days as the school is in session pursuant to the current school calendar as may be amended as necessary.  In addition the driver may be required to transport such other students to other institutes of learning as approved by the transportation director, building principals or their designees.  Responsible for the welfare and safety of the pupils of the Cripple Creek – Victor School District until such time they are transported to their final destination.  During emergency situations possess the ability to operate in a calm and professional manner.  Responsible for becoming familiar with the academic calendar of such colleges or other educational institutes so as to be aware of when school is in session.  In addition to transporting students, the driver may be requested to transport vehicles for repairs or inspections at outside agencies, make regularly scheduled field trips, activity trips or such other requests as may from time to time be made by the transportation director, building principal or their designee.  Monitors and enforces rules of conduct and behavior for assigned students and reinforces positive student behaviors in accordance with school and district policy.  Coordinates and collaborates with other department, building, and district staff in a positive and professional manner.  Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.  Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the principal and/or their designee.
 
Physical Demands
Standing, walking, and ability to sit/drive for extended periods of time.  Reaching, carrying, pushing, bending and handling items weighing up to 50 pounds.  Hearing and speaking to communicate with students, parents, community members, other workers and supervisors.
 
Other
Be familiar with and have working knowledge of the certified handbook and the policies and procedures of the district and schools. 
 
Salary & Benefits
Salary and benefits to be established by the Board of Education.  Current salary is $15.00 per hour – benefits include PERA Retirement.  Employees must work 32 hours per week to be eligible for health insurance.
