Substitute Nurse

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid NJ Registered Nurse License or NJ School Nurse Endorsement
• Demonstrated expertise in school health nursing practice and emergency procedures
• Knowledge of child growth and development, community and family dynamics, current health issues, and wellness education
• Knowledge of community health and social services resources and ability to communicate effectively with non-school health professionals and social service agencies
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provides first aid, emergency care, and routine health services to students and staff in accordance with established procedures and district policies.
• Administers prescribed medications and implements student health care plans as directed and permitted by applicable laws and regulations.
• Monitors student health needs and communicates concerns to appropriate school personnel and families.
• Maintains accurate and confidential student health records and documentation.
• Maintains a safe, healthy, and supportive school environment and responds appropriately to illness, injury, and medical concerns.
• Performs other health-related duties as assigned by the school nurse or administration.

PAY RATE: $220 per diem
