Substitute Paraprofessional

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to relate well to students, parents, staff, and members of the school community
• Ability to work closely and effectively with students in a supportive and nurturing manner
• Demonstrate potential for growth, creativity, flexibility, and adaptability
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily classroom activities, routines, and instructional tasks.
• Supervise and support students to ensure their safety, well-being, and appropriate participation throughout the school day.
• Support students during classroom, snack, lunch, and gross motor activities.
• Assist students with instructional materials, equipment, and classroom activities.
• Establish and maintain positive, supportive relationships with students while encouraging independence and appropriate behavior.
• Communicate student needs, injuries, illnesses, behavioral concerns, or other significant matters to the classroom teacher or administration.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and records.
• Perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the classroom teacher or building Principal.

PAY RATE: $150 per diem
