Substitute Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid New Jersey Instructional Substitute Certification, or New Jersey Instructional CE, CEAS, Standard Certification
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, outside agencies, and community groups
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to manage a classroom
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Deliver instruction by implementing lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher across assigned subject areas
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and well-managed learning environment by reinforcing appropriate student behavior and school expectations
• Follow established school and classroom routines, procedures, and schedules
• Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being throughout the school day, including during lunch and recess
• Report student injuries, illnesses, and significant disciplinary concerns to school administration promptly
• Provide the regular teacher with a summary of instructional progress and student conduct at the end of the assignment

PAY RATE: $150 per diem
