About Camden Rockport Elementary School
Camden Rockport Elementary School, nestled in a spacious setting with woods and fields adjacent to the high school, serves approximately 310 students in grades PreK-4 from the towns of Camden and Rockport. CRES is guided by the EL Education Curriculum and Bridges mathematics, and follows the Responsive Classroom philosophy. CRES has a robust system of support for students, and features the first nature-based universal PreK in the state of Maine.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and resilient Special Education Teacher to work with students with mental health, behavioral and social-emotional disabilities in our school-based Day Treatment Program. A total of 2 Special Education Teachers, 5 Educational Technicians and a clinical social worker provide positive behavioral support for students in both special and regular education settings. The Day Treatment classroom is a therapeutic environment that prioritizes experiential education and outdoor activities while using a restorative approach to discipline and a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to student care. The teacher will be responsible for case-management, inclusion, consultation, and supervision of Educational Technicians.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with IEP goals

Deliver evidence-based early childhood special education services using a nature-based approach for designated PreK students

Support growth in literacy, numeracy, communication, executive functioning, and social-emotional skills

Monitor student progress and maintain compliant documentation

Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school staff
Requirements

Background check, including fingerprinting

Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification with Teacher of Children With Disabilities 282 (Birth - age 5 and K - grade 8) endorsements required

Experience working in Day Treatment and collaborating with outside agencies is preferred.
Pay and Benefits
- Pay ranges from $52,686 per year (Bachelor's Degree, 0 years experience) to $100,103 per year (2 Masters or PhD with 20+ years experience), prorated based on start date.
