Function / Position Summary To provide individualized instruction as mandated by individual student IEPs. Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide direct services and instruction as mandated by the IEP.
- Administration of classroom, district and state assessment.
- Modification of classroom assignments and tests for caseload students.
- Ongoing collaboration and communication with parents and staff.
- Complete diagnostic components determined on the domains sheet.
- Shared responsibility for testing students as determined by School Service Team discussion.
- Enter diagnostic information into data-based screens and create hard copy of diagnostic report.
- Attend School Service Team and IEP meetings
- Complete data-based screens for annual reviews/re-evaluations for caseload students.
- Shared responsibility for entering present levels of information for initial evaluations including EEL evaluations as determined by School Service Team discussions.
- Update progress reports quarterly.
- Collaborative grade reporting with General Education teachers.
- Management and reporting of subject grades for instructional students.
- Create data driven goals and objectives based on student needs, grade level, and state standards for caseload students.
- Monitor case load for annual review and re-evaluation dates.
- Oversee that all services on an IEP are implemented.
- Oversee that goals are updated on data-based screens by case manager and/or related service staff.
- Attend contract meetings.
- Attend school professional development.
- Perform other requirements of the job in accordance with the ETA collective bargaining agreement.
Education
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBSI endorsement.
- Bachelor's degree in related subject from accredited university.
- Previous experience in Special Education preferred but not necessary for hire.
Experience / Knowledge
- Knowledge of common core standards.
- Knowledge of secondary general education curriculum.
- Knowledge of instructional and resource programs for students with a variety of special education eligibility.
Physical Demands
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Occasional stooping, bending, and reaching.
Terms of Employment
- This is a 10-month position.
- Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education.
- The starting salary for this role is $60,689.
